Watch 2020 Banff Mountain Film Fest online from the comfort of your own couch!
With many of the Banff Film Festival events being cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus concerns, we’ve put together a list of all of the films from this tour that are available online. Of course – we’re all about icons and icon makers and these incredible athletes are icons in the outdoor adventure world!
A Nordic Skater – 5 mins
A Nordic Skater is the very first film in the world about nordic skating โ a Scandinavian style cross-country ice skating on frozen lakes and fjords

Camel Finds Water – 8 mins
Trevor found the hull of an abandoned fishing boat in a field. He brought it home and built it back to a sea-worthy state over the course of a summer. Then, he took it on its maiden voyage to British Columbia in search of waves.

Circle of the Sun – 5 mins
Steep mountains, the ocean, the sun, and the aurora borealis. One rotation of the sun high in the Arctic on skis equals one day of magic.
Danny Daycare – 4 mins
In his latest film Danny MacAskill takes on some child care the only way he knows how… by going for a wee bike ride around Scotland!
Deer 139 (trailer only) – 2 mins
Three women follow the 137 km migration path of a scruffy, pregnant mule deer doe and in the process, learn to see the world differently.
Defiance – 12 Mins
A short snowboarding documentary featuring three of the worlds best snowboarders riding some of the steepest terrain in Canada.
Electric Greg – 20 Mins
Record-breaking mountain endurance athlete, Greg Hill, has seen the affects of climate change first-hand and came to realize the way he was approaching the mountains was only making the problem worse. So he changed his approach and set out to climb 100 peaks without burning any fossil fuels. But the question is: will it make a difference?
Eli – 5 Mins
As a rancher growing up in the rugged northeast corner of the Navajo Nation with no electricity or running water, Eli Neztsosie learned through years of work what it meant to rely on discipline and endurance. Now he relies on those same skills, running long distances โ striving every day, in his words, to be better than he was the day before.
Gone Tomorrow – Kentucky Ice Climbing – (trailer only) 20 Mins
Ice climbing in Kentucky?! This adventure documentary takes the audience for a bourbon-fueled ride deep into the bushy hollers of Appalachia with a crew of harmless misfits as they race to search out and climb new ice routes before they’re gone.

When filmmaker/photographer Pete McBride and writer Kevin Fedarko set out on a 1200 km journey on foot through the entire length of the Grand Canyon the challenge becomes far more than they bargained for. Into the Canyon is a story of extreme physical hardship where the bonds of friendship are stretched and the timeless beauty of this sacred place becomes meditation and ultimately a cautionary tale for our complex relationship with the natural world.
The Ladakh Project – 13 Mins
Seven Days, three rivers, one woman. This is the story of Nouria Newman’s solo kayak adventure in the Indian Himalaya.
Lhotse – 23 Mins
Itโs not always what we achieve that defines us, rather it is why we achieve such things that creates clarity in our existence. In 2018, Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison completed the first ski descent of the 27,940-foot Lhotse, the fourth-highest mountain in the world. This is their story.
Life of Pie – 11 Mins
When Jen Zeuner and Anne Keller moved to the tiny, conservative high desert town of Fruita, Colorado almost twenty years ago, it was not on the map as far as mountain biking was concerned and they were on the fringe and a bit ostracized. Now theyโre at the very heart and soul of the community.
The Motivator – 4 Mins

Amazing !!! Thank You SO MUCH for sharing these films with ALL of us ๐๐ This is my 28th consecutive year of attending the Banff Film Festival !! You NEVER let me down, I am always motivated by those I see in the films and by you as a socially conscious group of presenters to do a amazing act that makes social isolation just that much more easier to tolerate.

๐๐ป Heather
Wow! Thanks you guys!

You do know that 400 people at Banff Centre were just laid off.
Publishing a list like this is a great way to ensure none of them get their job back and the future of the festival (which can only happen with the support of the earnings from the tour) Is at risk.
Think about it
Michael – Banff publishes this list themselves…on their website.
In fact… they’ve recently added ALL video links – just like we did.
